Our Military Kids, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports children (ages 5 – 12th grade) of deployed National Guard and Reserve service members, as well as those of wounded veterans from all service branches, with grants that cover up to six months of a chosen activity. Participation in these extracurricular activities has proven to help military children cope with stress and anxiety, as well as foster a sense of self-confidence and positivity, while their parents are recovering or serving overseas.
KinderCare Learning Centers proudly support U.S. Military, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. National Park Services, and U.S. General Services Administration families. In an effort to help military families in need of care, KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for eligible active duty military families and a solution to address their child care needs when care at an on-base Child Development Center (CDC) isn’t available.
Tutor.com for U.S. Military Families, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, is a program that provides on-demand, online tutoring and homework help at no cost to eligible service members and their dependents. With live, expert tutors available 24/7, military-connected students can receive academic help at their moment of need—anywhere they have an internet connection.
Through games and videos for kids, plus articles and discussions for grown ups, Sesame Street provides support and guidance on topics such as Relocation, Health and Wellness, Deployments, Grief and Homecomings.
